NBA - Be Unstoppable - Shaquille O'Neal Canvas Art by IKONICK

Shaquille O'Neal was the original Big Man. David Robinson may have been faster, Patrick Ewing might have shot better, but no one was more powerful than Shaq. Sure, his 7'1" 330-pound frame helped him establish a physical presence on the hardwood, but it is his mentality and his play style that makes his size-23s such big shoes to fill.

At age 13 Shaq was already six and a half feet tall. As he continued to grow, so did his physical advantage over opponents. He was taller, more athletic, and had a longer reach than anyone else he went up against.

Playing into that strength (his size), O'Neal developed a play style that couldn't be stopped. His drop step and right-handed jump hook shot were unblockable. Combine that with his ability to muscle his way past defenders to dunk, and you have a truly unstoppable center.

In 1992 Shaq was drafted to the Orlando Magic with the first overall pick, and the league would never be the same.

Firstly, after not just one but two glass-shattering dunks during his rookie season, the NBA ruled to reinforce the backboards. But that wasn't the only adjustment the league had to make for Shaq.

O'Neal's dominant presence in the post forced teams to switch up their entire defensive strategies to deal with him. They would double- or triple-team him to try to manage the threat, or deliberately target him for fouls using the "Hack-a-Shaq" technique. Anything to stop this powerhouse.

But Shaq loved it.

All the fouls (called or otherwise) meant his opponents were desperate. They didn't know how to stop him, so they resorted to reckless tactics. He knew every outnumbered match-up meant he was playing well.

Despite the beatings, he never stopped playing his brand of physical, dominant basketball. Try as they might, his opponents couldn’t stop him.

"Be Unstoppable" from the officially licensed NBA Legends canvas art collection is a message of tenacity. On the court and in life, the strong have a big target on their back to the competition. They will try to double-team you, foul you, and beat you up. Don't let that stop you. Just smile and keep playing. It means they're getting desperate.
