"Monopoly - Risk Not Regret" Canvas Art by IKONICK
Nobody ever got rich by playing it safe.
In the game of life you can either sit out the hand and watch everyone else play, or you can ante-up and roll the dice.
The fear of losing that bet turns most people into spectators. They stand back, watching the table, never risking anything themselves. But go to a casino and watch the craps table. Who is having more fun, the onlookers or the players?
The same goes for life—but the stakes are exponentially higher. You can scroll through your feed and see the trips other people are taking, the businesses they're starting, the chances they're taking; or you can reject the voice of fear telling you it’s unachievable, and go after your own dream. Now, go to a nursing home and see who lives with more regret: Those who lived as onlookers or those who played the game.
Regret doesn't come from trying and failing. It comes from not taking the chance in the first place. No one mourns their failures—they only regret their missed opportunities. You only get one shot at life. It is the moments you don't seize that will stick in your memory. Time eventually runs out on your ability to take risky chances. And when it does, you will wish you had taken more.
You have to ask yourself: Does the comfort of playing it safe outweigh the potential rewards of taking the risk to follow your passion? The answer is always no.
Next time you are faced with a difficult choice, really think about how you feel. Chances are you know the path you want to take. There's the decision you feel like you should take (the safe bet), and then there is the decision you actually want to take (the risk). All those reasons your brain comes up with to take the easy route is just fear talking. Shut it up. Listen only to what you want out of life. Then take the risk.
The "Risk Not Regret" canvas from the officially licensed Monopoly Front Page Collection encourages you to take the risks and live with no regrets.
Origins Of Monopoly
The earliest known version of Monopoly, known as The Landlord's Game, was designed by Elizabeth Magie in 1904 to teach people about realty and taxation. It was a practical demonstration of the present system of land grabbing with all its usual outcomes and consequences. In 1935, It then inspired the game we know today.
The Inspiration for IKONICKs collection comes from the same very origin Elizabeth Magie had to educate and teach. This new collection is meant to rewrite the nostalgic stories we all played growing up. We created our own world with the intention to inspire and motivate a new generation of entrepreneurs and dreamers that want to build their empire through hard work, patience, risk-taking, leadership, optimism, focus, and gratitude.
