"Follow Your Dreams" Motivational Kids Canvas art by IKONICK.
Once upon a time, there was a dolphin. She loved her home in the sea, but always wished she could fly among the stars. When the sun went down and the stars began to twinkle, she would swim up to the surface and gaze at them, wondering what it would be like to get just a little bit closer. Every night she would go to sleep and dream of flying through the night sky, surrounded by sparkling stars. And every morning when she woke up, they'd be gone again until the next evening.
The dolphin had a lot to do during the day: Chasing boats, watching swimmers splash in the shallows, and hanging out with her sea turtle friends. But in the back of her mind, she was always thinking about the stars.
She thought it wasn't fair that she could only look at them from so far away. After all, dolphins can breathe air. If only she could fly...
As she was thinking, a seagull floating on the water next to her spread its wings and flew off. Suddenly the dolphin had an idea! After all, what are fins if not wings for the water?
So she dove down to the ocean floor, and with all her strength swam up to the surface so quickly she burst out of the water! Flapping her fins like the seagull's wings, she held in the air for a second, but splashed back down into the sea. Her idea worked! But she wanted to go even higher.
The dolphin practiced all day: Diving to the bottom, swimming up, and flapping her fins as fast as she could. It was hard work, but each time she did it, she got a little higher out of the water.
That night, when the stars came out, they shone brighter than any other night she had seen. She went to the surface to look at them like always, but this time she was determined to get a closer look.
The dolphin waited for a big wave to come, dove down to the sea floor, and got ready. When the wave was right above her, she swam faster than she had ever swum—up from the sandy bottom, up to the surface, and out the top of the wave. She flapped her fins as hard as she could and, to her amazement, flew among the stars! Just like in her dreams!
That night she didn't dream of flying. She had already done it.
The next day she told her sea turtle friends about her flight. She said she was going to do it again every night from then on.
"You did all that with your fins?" Asked one sea turtle.
"These aren't fins," the dolphin replied, "They're wings!"
Our little ones have the biggest imaginations. They can dream up so many amazing possibilities. Encourage them to follow those dreams with this kids canvas wall artwork. It may take hard work (flying always does!) but it will be worth it when they realize anything is possible.
