"Dreams Weigh More Than Excuses" Motivational Canvas Wall Art by Ikonick
What holds weight in your life?
Every day we weigh our decisions based on what we value. It's simple cost versus benefit. It starts the second we wake up in the morning. Get up and get after it, or silence the alarm and enjoy another half hour of sleep? You have to weigh productivity against indulgence.
Whether or not we realize we do it, even the smallest decision of our day goes through the same analysis: What do we get out of it? And what is it going to cost us?
When you set out to accomplish a larger goal—personal or professional—you better know how much weight the outcome holds for you. Because there are going to be countless obstacles in your way and countless excuses to quit. They will show up every time things get difficult and doubt creeps in. They will try to convince you to take the easy option and give up. You will have to weigh the payoff against the difficulty every time.
That's the bad news.
The good news is excuses only hold as much weight as you give them. In other words, an excuse will only stop you if you let it.
Have you ever heard the expression, "Giving up on your dreams"? It doesn't make any sense. It's an impossibility. If something is truly a dream of yours, nothing short of death can stop you from pursuing it.
If your life's goal is to become a doctor, the late nights of medical school won't stop you. And if they do, it wasn't truly your dream to begin with.
The difference between those living their dreams and those still dreaming is how much weight they give to the excuses.
There will be millions of excuses standing between where you are and where you want to be. No matter how big they might appear, never let them weigh you down.
